The 2023 Round Lihu Lake Half Marathon is set to kick off on Nov 5 in Binhu district, Wuxi, Jiangsu province, with 18,000 individuals from home and abroad set to participate.

One of the most exciting aspects of this year's event is the design of the finisher's medal. Comprising four overlapping "water ripples", the medal combines various elements like Lihu Lake and Yuantouzhu, both Binhu landmarks.

In addition to the marathon itself, from Nov 4 to 6, all participating runners and their companions will be able to enjoy a 50-percent discount on entrance tickets to multiple scenic spots in Binhu. These include the Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot, Yuantouzhu, the Three Kingdoms City, Water Margin City, Nianhua Bay and Sunac Culture and Tourism City.

This year's event has enlisted the assistance of nearly 2,000 volunteers from institutions like Wuxi Taihu University and Wuxi University, who have undergone training to ensure the marathon goes smoothly. Furthermore, over 400 medical professionals and emergency service personnel will be on hand to provide immediate assistance in case of any unforeseen medical issues during the event.
