Wuxi Taihu University, located in Binhu district, Wuxi, is the first university jointly established by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and local governments. It ranks sixth nationwide and first in Jiangsu on the Best Chinese Universities Ranking by ShanghaiRanking.

Located in a national forest park, the campus of Wuxi Taihu University truly lives up to its reputation as a "university in a garden". Over 20,000 undergraduate students from across the country study here.

The university has been focusing on building a strong faculty, and several members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering have been appointed as distinguished professors to deliver lectures, guide research, and enhance the quality of teaching. Over 95 percent of full-time teachers at the university hold doctoral or master's degrees and many young teachers are pursuing their doctoral degrees at renowned institutions such as Renmin University of China, China University of Mining and Technology, and Nanjing Normal University.

The university has also established an alliance for alumni entrepreneurs and invited them to give speeches and engage in discussions with students as mentors for employment and entrepreneurship.

Over the years, Wuxi Taihu University has closely aligned its development with industries in Wuxi and southern Jiangsu. It focuses on strategic local industries such as internet of things, integrated circuits, software, and artificial intelligence and has developed six major groups: IoT applications, intelligent manufacturing, smart architecture, modern productive services, cultural creativity, and healthcare.

In the past two decades, the university has groomed 82,000 high-quality talents, with 70 percent of them starting careers in Wuxi.

The university has consistently prioritized the integration of industry and education. It has established educational bases and industrial colleges in partnership with leading companies such as Alibaba, Rockwell, and Sony.

In recent years, students from the university have won over 2,200 honors in various competitions, including more than 110 awards in national-level events.
