A groundbreaking ceremony for the Jiulong Bay Branch of Binhu Experimental School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University was held in Hudai town, Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province on Aug 19.
The 50,000-square-meter public school comprises a primary school which has 36 classrooms and a junior middle school which has 18 classrooms. It is expected to enroll students in 2024 at the earliest.
Sun Haidong, Party chief of Binhu, said at the ceremony that the school will help bring more high-quality education resources to the district and increase the appeal of Hudai town. He also expressed hope that Binhu can further cooperate with Nanjing Normal University on scientific research, technological innovation, and talent training.
Five companies, including Wuxi Paike New Material Technology Co and Jiangsu Xihua New Energy Technology Co, donated 2 million yuan ($291,421) to an education fund which will be used to reward outstanding students and educators.
