The bureaus of culture, sport, and tourism, as well as the agriculture and rural affairs of Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province held a launch ceremony for its summer-autumn culture and tourism consumption season on Aug 13 in Nanjing.
Taking place in the Xuanwu Lake scenic area and aimed at incentivizing Nanjing residents to travel in Binhu, the event featured performances, agricultural products and intangible cultural heritage items native to the district. During the consumption season, Nanjing tourists can get discounted tickets to a number of attractions in Binhu, including Yuantouzhu (also known as Turtle Head Island), the Plum Garden, and Sunac Resort.
A seminar to draw investment to Binhu's culture and tourism industry was also held that same day. The district's government authorities presented Binhu's advantages in transportation, natural environment and business environment, while officials from several sub-districts and enterprises spoke about their culture and tourism projects welcoming investment.
Participants of the seminar also discussed topics such as marketing strategy, digital technology and guesthouse management.
By making the most of its cultural and tourism resources, Binhu has made significant progress upgrading the industry, improving infrastructure and beautifying the urban environment in recent years. It is now focusing on the integration of tourism with the cultural and agricultural sectors.
