Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province boasts several hiking routes that offer visitors fascinating views and pleasant outdoor experiences.
The west Lihu Lake hiking route, once rated as one of the most beautiful routes in Jiangsu, starts from the Bogong Island and passes through the Yufu Island and Lihu Central Park. Hikers will find water conservancy facilities and natural and cultural landscapes along the route.
Near the Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, also known as Turtle Head Island, is a walking path built with blue asphalt. A cherry blossom painted on the road can be seen every four meters. The path is part of the Wuxi Marathon track.
The hiking route along the Liangxi River has signs that inform pedestrians how long they have walked. Facilities including outdoor fitness equipment, swimming pools, kite flying places, basketball courts and football fields can be found along the route.
The Junzhang Ancient Path, located in the hills to the east of the Meiliang Lake, is also a good choice for hikers. The 20-kilometer path was previously the only passage to the outside world for locals in the 1960s. A number of tourist attractions, including the CCTV Wuxi Film and Television Base, are situated near the ancient path.
