Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province is ramping up efforts to build more high-end sci-tech parks as it aims to achieve sustainable, innovation-driven growth.
According to an action plan released at the beginning of this year, the district will build 3 million square meters of sci-tech parks in the following three years. More than 1 million sq m of parks are expected to be completed in 2022.
To achieve this goal, Binhu has relocated 304 poorly performing companies and revitalized about 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) of land since last April.
Established in 2000, the Qinxin Sci-tech Industrial park in the Rongxiang sub-district of Binhu is currently undergoing reconstruction and will feature customized office rooms, new conference centers, shared spaces and other facilities following the upgrading.
Sun Haidong, Party chief of Binhu, has also urged government departments to help local projects deal with issues related to land use, environmental protection and energy consumption, and get through the administration and approval process as early as possible.
