Twenty-five schools, comprising 13 primary schools, 11 secondary schools and a university, in Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province were recently included in a pilot project to promote winter sports in the district's schools.

According to the district's culture, sports and tourism bureau, the bureau has worked with the education bureau of Binhu to help six schools set up skating teams and hold weekly trainings, and it plans to implement such projects in 30 schools by the end of this year.

A winter sports training base for teenagers was also launched recently in the Wuxi Sunac Snow Park in Binhu. A director of the indoor ski resort said that more efforts would be made to promote winter sports among young students and hold skiing events.
