Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province signed a cooperation agreement with multinational law firm King & Wood Mallesons to open a branch office and an intellectual property rights center for Yangtze River Delta Region in the district on Dec 9.
Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, said during the signing ceremony that he hopes both parties can leverage their own strengths and work together to provide high-quality services to Wuxi's companies.
Du added that the city will create an enabling business environment for the law firm as always, and the company, with its professional team and first-class legal services, is expected to help with Wuxi's efforts in building a strong IPR management system.
Wang Junfeng, global chairman of KWM's management committee, said Wuxi has sustained a good development momentum and has a favorable business environment. He added that KWM will step up efforts to build an IPR protection platform that serves the Yangtze River Delta region and the nation, as well as strive to make a breakthrough in international IPR cooperation and other respects.
Headquartered in Beijing, KWM is a company that deals with matters including IPR, dispute resolution and compliance.
