Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot and Yuantouzhu Scenic Area in Wuxi's Binhu district in East China's Jiangsu province were included on a list of top 10 popular scenic areas in China during the May Day holiday that was released by online travel agency Lvmama.

Major tourist attractions in Binhu district received about 1.15 million visitors in total during the five-day May Day holiday that ended on May 5, generating about 1.03 billion yuan ($159.59 million) in tourism revenue, according to the local tourism bureau.

Among them, major ticketed tourist attractions received about 724,900 visitors, generating about 57.8 million yuan in ticket revenue, an increase of 4.4 percent and 15.18 percent respectively compared to the same period in 2019.

The holiday visitors were mainly from Shanghai, as well as Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Henan provinces, the local tourism bureau reported.

Official statistics showed that Sunac Resort, Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot, Nianhuawan Scenic Area, and Wuxi Zoo in Binhu were the most popular tourism sites during the holiday.

The tourist attractions organized a variety of activities, such as a music festival, night tours, and light shows, for visitors.

The top five popular travel routes during the holiday were Sunac Resort - CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base - Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, Wuxi Zoo - CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base - Sunac Resort, Yuantouzhu Scenic Area - Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot - Nianhuawan Scenic Area, Xuelang Mountain Ecological Park - Yuantouzhu Scenic Area - Nianhuawan Scenic Area, as well as Wuxi Zoo - Li Garden - CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base.

In addition, the top five popular hotels were Sunac Wenhua Hotel, Sunac Jiahua Hotel, Wuxi Taihu Hotel, Wuxi Hubin Hotel, and Sheraton Wuxi Binhu Hotel.
