Various varieties of glorious azaleas are set to be in full bloom this weekend at Jiulong Bay in Wuxi's Binhu district.
The best time to admire the azalea, the city flower of Wuxi, is between April and May.
The azalea garden at Jiulong Bay is home to more than 1,000 azalea trees from domestic and imported species. It is considered to be one of the gardens with the finest collection of azaleas in China.
The garden boasts 11 types of Kurume azalea, the most popular imported azalea in the garden, which will be the first to bloom in red, purple, white and pink.
The garden is also home to two 500-year-old azalea trees, both from rare species, which are expected to produce more than 35,000 flowers.
