Wuxi's Binhu district held a conference on attracting businesses and talents on April 2, the highest profile of its kind in recent years, local media reported.

Ma Liang, Party secretary of Binhu, highlighted the importance of talent for local development in his speech at the conference. He said more efforts should be made to attract high-quality projects and high-end talent for the construction of the Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt.

The Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt is considered a key part of Wuxi's efforts to promote high-quality development and bolster the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. And Binhu set a goal to lead the construction of the Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt on March 1.

Binhu will upgrade its talent policies, improve talent services, make full use of local science and technology innovation platforms, and draw on the strength of third-party institutions, said Ma.

Local government officials also introduced Binhu's promising industries, abundant sci-tech resources, and favorable policies at the conference.

The district has set up points of contact in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Xi'an to help with business and talent introduction.
