Wuxi's Binhu district set a goal to lead the construction of the Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt at the 2021 Binhu Innovation Conference on March 1.

The Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt is considered a key step in Wuxi's efforts to promote high-quality development and bolster the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

Ma Liang, Party secretary of Binhu, said that the district is home to many of the city's important technological innovation resources and is confident about playing a leading role in the construction of the Taihu Bay Technological Innovation Belt.

To further promote technological innovation, Binhu will strive to optimize its business environment and provide better services for entrepreneurs and high-end talent, according to local officials at the conference.

The district plans to improve its industrial layout and increase fiscal support for the development of key industries as well as enhance policy support for R&D of advanced technologies, officials said.
