Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, secured 17 industrial projects worth 8.89 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) at an online signing ceremony on Feb 18, local media reported.
The projects, which involve life health, digital culture, integrated circuit and headquarters economy, will be located in the Wuxi Taihu Lake Bay Technological Innovation Belt.
Ruan Jianping, president of Jiangsu Huafang Medical Technology Co and a representative at the online signing ceremony, said that the company decided to set up their headquarters in the area because of the huge development potential in the Wuxi Masan National Life Science Park.
Ruan added that the company will build the best domestic gynecological medical device brand in Wuxi and introduce more projects in ophthalmology and intelligent rehabilitation to the city.
Ma Liang, Party secretary of Binhu district, noted that Binhu will focus on the development of the Wuxi Taihu Lake Bay Technological Innovation Belt during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) and on developing original advanced technologies, transfer and transformation of high-tech achievements, key national industries, and innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
According to Ma, Binhu will continue developing six advantageous industrial clusters, including integrated circuit, life health, new-generation information technology, intelligent equipment, and digital culture.
