Wuxi's Binhu district has entered the local "two sessions" season, the annual meetings for discussing local economic and social development over the past year, as well as for making plans for the year to come.
The fifth session of the fourth Binhu District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced on Feb 2 and will last until Feb 4.
More than 200 CPPCC members from various walks of life participated in the session to put forward proposals to offer comments and suggestions on major political and social issues of the district.
During the three-day session, the CPPCC members will listen to and discuss the speeches of the main leaders of the district Party committee, as well as review the work report of the CPPCC Standing Committee and the report regarding the work on proposals since the last session.
They will also attend the fifth session of the fourth Binhu District People's Congress and hear the government's work report.
The fifth session of the fourth Binhu District People's Congress will be held from Feb 3 to 5, according to the schedule released by the local government.
