40.8b yuan in investment deals inked at Binhu trade fair

A total of 38 industrial projects receiving a total of 40.8 billion yuan ($6.21 billion) in investment were signed on Nov 18 during the annual trade fair of Wuxi's Binhu district.

The projects include eight major ones receiving more than 1 billion yuan each in investment and six foreign-funded ones receiving a total of $1.15 billion in investment.

The projects involve high-end industrial fields such as integrated circuits, health, information technology, film and television, and advanced manufacturing.

During the trade fair, Binhu's service center for sci-tech innovation and high-end talent was launched. The center will provide services related to investment promotion, talent recruitment and cultivation, project application, incubation, and financing.

The annual trade fair has long been an important platform for showcasing major projects in Binhu and collecting ideas for the district's future high-quality development through speeches by guests.

This year, professionals from all walks of life offered advice on smart city construction, information security, talent cultivation, and IC industrial development and discussed the beneficial effects of key national and regional plans, such as the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Taihu Bay blueprint, on Binhu's developement.

According to Binhu leadership at the fair, their visits to Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen to attract investors, as well as local government measures to support high-quality projects, have helped attract a number of major projects to Binhu this year.
