Wuxi's Binhu district received 1.68 million tourists during the 8-day Mid-Autumn Festival National Day holiday, generating 2.58 billion yuan ($384.21 million) in tourism revenue, according to a report by the district's culture and tourism bureau.

The tourists mainly came from Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui and Henan provinces and most traveled by car, the report showed.

The report also showed that the top five most popular scenic areas in the district during the holiday were Wuxi Sunac Resort, Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, Nianhuawan Scenic Area, Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot and CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base.

The average occupancy rate of hotels in the district was 67.85 percent during the holiday, an increase of 9.34 percent over the same period last year, the report said, and the top five most popular hotels in terms of occupancy rate were Jinhu Hotel, Taihu Crowne Plaza, Wuxi Lingshan Juna Paramita Hotel and Taihu Hotel.

Holiday activities held at scenic spots were also highlighted in the report, among which the most popular were the drone show at Nianhuawan Scenic Area, the cultural festival at the Li Garden and the chrysanthemum art exhibition at Wuxi Studios.
