Wuxi's Binhu district held a series of activities on Aug 14 to offer an overview of Binhu to overseas students in an effort to attract them to live and work there.
Local government officials briefed overseas students on Binhu's environment for living, work, entrepreneurship, and industrial development during a promotional meeting, and offered an olive branch to them.
According to Binhu Deputy Director Guo Kai, the district is actively developing six strategic emerging industries, including life health, IC design, information technology, TV and film, the internet of vehicles, and finance headquarters.
Videos outlining local talent policies - as well as overseas returnees and foreign talents explaining their reasons of choosing Binhu - were also displayed at the meeting.
Representatives of local established enterprises including Wuxi OriGenetold, Kalman Navigation and Maxscend were invited to share their growth stories. They said the business environment, favorable polices and government services of Binhu helped a lot in their development.
In the afternoon, overseas students visited Wuxi Studios, Liyuan Economic Development Zone and Wuxi (Mashan) National Life Science Park to get closer to the local environment for industrial development and learn more about the key industries in Binhu.
After the visit, overseas students attended a symposium, where local government officials answered their questions about talent projects, employment policies and support for entrepreneurship.
