Over 100,000 roses in more than 80 varieties and an array of colors including red, yellow, and white are now in full bloom at Longsi Ecological Park in Binhu district, Wuxi.

The blossoms came a little later than usual this year, just in time for the upcoming five-day May Day holiday, and will last throughout May, said Zhang Fang, who works in marketing at the park.

In addition to the rich colors, the flowers come in a variety of sizes, with the largest ones having a diameter of up to 20 cm and the smallest just 2.5 cm.

The rose garden at the park covers 70 mu (4.67 hectares) and is turning into a sea of flowers.

Visitors in groups and pairs flooded into the park on the morning of April 29 and were asked to scan a health QR code one by one as part of epidemic prevention and control efforts. Many of them focused their cameras on the flowers and even queued to take pictures in front of some of the park's attractions.

Medical workers and their spouse and children with valid medical certificates and household registration can enter the park for free until Dec 31, 2020.

In addition, the park will lower its ticket price to 30 yuan ($4.24) per person from May 1 to 31 and the preferential policies for minors and seniors remain unchanged.
