Wuxi to hold 2017 China WBC

The first round of the 2017 China World Boxing Championship will be held in Wuxi's Binhu district on August 7.

The contest will see eight up-and-coming Chinese boxers fight eight legendary veterans, including former heavyweight champions Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.

The winners will claim the WBC International Super Junior Welterweight Gold Belt, the WBC China Featherweight Gold Belt and the Jincheng Combat Honor Gold Belt.

The contest, jointly sponsored by World Boxing Council (WBC) and Wuxi-based Jincheng Group, is the first of the 2017 China WBC series. The following rounds will take place in the cities of Qidong, Xiangshan, Suzhou and Hanghou.
