This center is at the core area of the Wuxi Taihu Lake New City development, with a planned total area 3.4-sq-km at an estimated cost of 5 billion yuan.

It will specialize in R&D and applications of sensor network information technology, with help from related industries and is expected to be a leader and national demonstration for that area. It will consist of the following areas: R&D, systems, services, support, training, and logistics and has already attracted many talented people in the business-start-up field from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Singapore.

Its industries cover sensor network information technology and smart technology for communications, medical care, environmental protection, safety, logistics and the agricultural Internet of Things, and has brought in 180 enterprises such as of Fudan University’s Research Institute at Wuxi, CETC Internet of Things (Innovation and R&D), Wuxi iData Technology Co, Wuxi NCE Power, IMV, Wanrun Quantum, China Transportation Information and Compass Technology Co, and Tianyu Medical Co.
